There are various positions and departments in a company. Spinach has “Worker Dimensions” that can help you to organize all this information with an adjustable filter. This section will explain everything you need to know about worker dimensions including what worker dimensions are, and how to create, edit, and delete worker dimensions.

1. What Are Worker Dimensions?
Worker dimensions indicate company structure, and each worker dimension has values. In payroll processing, worker dimensions can be used to filter information about workers, so it is easier for site admins and users to add payroll instructions and manage payroll for users grouped by worker dimension.
2. Access Worker Dimensions
- Go to the sidebar and select
People - Click
Worker Dimensions - The worker dimensions table will show up
3. Create New Worker Dimensions
There are 2 ways to create new worker dimensions: a. Add New Worker Dimension Directly and b. Upload Worker Dimensions
a. Add New Worker Dimension Directly
The first way is adding a new dimension directly on the browser.
- Click
+ New Worker Dimension - Set name (e.g. Group)
- Set description (optional)
- Set value (e.g. Business, Production)
- The value can be added by clicking
+ Add Position - The value can be deleted by clicking
xbutton beside each value field - Add and delete value(s)
- Click
Save - The new dimension will show up in the table
b. Upload Worker Dimensions
It is possible to create multiple worker dimensions in Excel and bulk upload.

- Fill out the excel file (e.g. Name: Section, Value 1: HR, Value 2: Marketing, Value 3: Business)

- Click
...then clickUpload Employee Dimensions - Choose your file and upload
- The new dimension will show up in the table
4. Edit Worker Dimensions
- Click the name of the worker dimension that you want to edit (e.g. Group)
- Edit the information as you want
- Name (e.g. Group → Manager)
- Description (e.g. Temporary → Permanent)
- Value (e.g. delete Business and add Accounting)
- Click
Save - The edited worker dimension will show up in the table
5. Filter Worker Dimensions
You can choose desirable criteria to filter lists of work dimensions that you want to display in the table.
- Click
Filters - Select criteria that you want to filter (e.g. Name)
- Set your criteria (e.g. Team)
- The filtered values regarding your criteria will show up in the table
The filter can be set and edited from the bar above the table as well.
6. Sort Worker Dimensions
The table can be sorted alphabetically and numerically in descending and ascending order.
- If data in the selected column is alphabetic data, it will be sorted alphabetically
- If data in the selected column is numerical data, it will be sorted numerically
The table can be sorted by one column at a time.
- To sort based on that column, click on the head of a column until you get the desired sort

- The sorted table will show up
7. Delete Worker Dimensions
- Click anywhere on the row of the worker dimension that you want to delete (e.g. Group)
- Click
Delete - The deleted worker dimension will disappear from the table
